Vintage 33: Corte Quetzaltenango
$110.00
This type of medium heavy-weight cotton corte with darker navy blue is called "morga" and are great for so many uses! This particular corte (traditional wrap skirt) also has subtle elegant bursts of delicate ikat-filled stripes in the weft.
Heavy enough to throw over a table or bring to the park for a picnic and still light enough to be used for sewing projects, especially jackets and mid-weight skirts. This piece was made with lighter-end mid-weight cotton, all with hand-embroidered randa, from Quetzaltenango. The crossing of the two randa lines represents the Mayan Cross, signaling the four cardinal points and energies of the Maya cosmovision.
This piece is closed, meaning still in the original loop form, and with clean selvages.
