San Juan Cochineal Diamonds Tote
This two-toned cochineal textile in diamond shapes is very special to us, as both shades were achieved using local cochineal from San Juan la Laguna, Lake Atitlán. We are pleased to be able to support yet another local group, the small cochineal-growing project. The dyers have had to work on trial and error basis to experiment with color results, as it can depend so much on the cochineal themselves. We're so pleased with the results. This textile was woven on a backstrap loom.
We're including a handmade ceramic tassel with this bag! Also made with naturally-dyed cotton.
Our favorite Quetzal Tote in a joyful cochineal ikat! This go-to tote is made with genuine leather and handwoven textiles inside and out for a durable and luxurious feel. Comes with a leather inner pocket with a zipper for securing valuables as well as two textile pocket compartments, and a handmade tassel ornament with a hand-painted ceramic bead that features a traditional brocade design of a star. We like to think it's the star lighting our journey forward, guiding us in life.
All outer metal accents are silver-colored.
