//A new Artisan Direct listing from our partners in Tactic!//
This is a pre-loved traditional huipil being sold by the weaver herself. The three-panel style each handwoven with four selvages is typical of Tactic, Alta Verapaz, and makes for easy and beautiful wearing paired with high-waisted bottoms. All four selvages are meticulously finished on the loom, showing excellent mastery by the weaver.
This type of huipil (traditional blouse) is regionally worn with gathered flowy corte (wrap skirt), and the combination is really beautiful. But feel free to combine with other kinds of skirts or jeans.
Brocaded figures include corn plants, women, and crabs. Handwoven and being sold by Elsa.
The neck opening is large enough for comfortable wearing. We think this piece fits like size M.
Material: Cotton blend, rayon floss for brocade
Care: Hand wash separately and line dry or lay flat to dry inside out. Colors should not bleed, but best to be careful with handwovens.
Measurements:
Width: 37 inches
Length: 17 inches
