Weaving & Culture during Semana Santa (April 12 - 20, 2025)

Join us for the world-famous Holy Week festivities in our home town of Antigua Guatemala! We are overjoyed to be able to share this colorful week with you. Let's explore Guatemalan textile traditions, spend quality time weaving in our studio garden, and explore Antigua together. We'll visit local artisan markets, share with you our favorite restaurants and spots around town, and of course, take a look at the awe-inspiring fresh "alfombras" or carpets made in the streets with colored sawdust, fresh flowers, vegetables, and fruits. This is our favorite part of Semana Santa every year, hands-down!

Mornings are filled with group workshops and tours, afternoons are free for exploring the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage City on your own (don't worry, we'll give you plenty of suggestions for places to visit!). Come learn from our partner master makers in a safe small-group setting, with workshops held in our open-air courtyard and other outdoor areas. This is a great option for the independently-minded traveler who enjoys taking some time on their own to explore and take it all in.

This is a small-group offer with backstrap weaving instruction ratio 2 students per 1 master weaver.

Total $2075 per person in a single room / $1700 in a shared double room when signing up with a friend.

The remaining payment will be due on when the minimum is met for this itinerary, or after the deadline to sign-up. More information to follow upon registration via email, including participant forms for you to fill out.
