Stitch by stitch, these sashiko-style coasters have been prepared with naturally-dyed cotton thread and traditional corte textile leftovers by our partner embroiderers around Sumpango, Guatemala. The cotton has been naturally-dyed by our partners over at Lake Atitlán.
Though the embroidery ladies may not have understood the Japanese sashiko-style immediately, once they saw the results in our coasters and our Tote Bags, they got it. The simple running stitches joining the two textiles (each side features a different corte so the coasters are reversible), strengthening the structure and adding such a warm coziness.
Each set comes with 4 different coasters with varying textiles and thread color. They are sure to add a beautiful handmade touch to your home.
