These trousers might just be our favorite new design in quite some time. Anyone who has tried this piece on has fallen in love with its beauty and comfort. Mari can attest to that personally, as she's been wearing her prototype pants almost daily!

We're honored to showcase the result of over a year of collaborative work, highlighting the talents of artisans from multiple communities across Guatemala, brought together in this collaboration between Sedona Rigsby and Kakaw Designs. From the initial sketches to prototype development, we worked closely with multiple communities to incorporate their heritage techniques through Sedona's thoughtful design.

Both the Tierra Top and Trousers are made with versatility and sustainability in mind. Our shared commitment to practical wear, use of indigo and other natural dyes, and localized textile traditions are celebrated in each garment. Cotton yarns were dyed by our partners at Lake Atitlán, backstrap weaving performed in San Juan Cotzal, footloom weaving in San Juan la Laguna, and garment construction in Antigua.

Note that these pants feature a comfortable elastic waist and elegant pleats in order to maximize the use of the handwoven fabric. We value the artistry and hard work that has gone into each and every textile used.

Absolute treasure

These are the finest clothes I own. No exaggeration, my hands were shaking when I tried them on. The fabric, colors combination, fit are top notch: the heft of the fabric, the color vibrancy and dimension, spectacular. I am an amateur sewer and natural dyer, and have taken weaving and embroidery classes, so I have a small idea of how much labor, creativity and care went into these. The price is not high enough! I will treasure them.
