Sold Out $60.00
//Sourced by Mari// I came across two "tapados" or shoulder coverings being sold by Doña Carmen in Momostenango on a cold morning in November 2021. These are some of the softest items I've ever felt produced from local wool here in Guatemala.
While Guatemalan wool will never be as soft as cashmere, Doña Carmen's two white tapados would be lovely to wear on a cold evening. I find the simplicity of the garment elegant and appealing.
I modeled with a favorite brooch. Doña Carmen said she usually wears it loosely and open, but I think I would personally rather secure with a pin of sorts.
Warp is commercial cotton, weft is handspun wool.
Measurements:
18 inches wide, 47 inches long. No fringes.
