Santa María de Jesús

We are listing new handwoven creations prepared by two weavers from an aldea of Santa María de Jesús, about 30 minutes away from Antigua, Guatemala. Though not far from a large town usually full of tourists, the Kakchikel-speaking aldea (neighborhood) is surprisingly remote. The vibrant and filled brocade traditional of this town is the result of mastery, patience, and dedication of weavers Doña Victoria and Doña Marcela.
