A breezy and soft addition perfect for spring and summer wear, made with organically-grown cotton handspun with a traditional "malacate" spindle and then naturally-dyed. Woven on a backstrap loom by our partner weavers led by the talented Doña Marta at San Juan la Laguna, these Lake Tops are sure special!

Featuring hand-embroidery along the neckline with natural brown heirloom ixcaco cotton, also handspun. The weave is a crossed-over calado (see close-up image). Fringing in both front and back of the top.

Each top is made with one backstrap-woven panel. Maximum width possible by these weavers is 24 inches, which we have labeled "L".

Handspun cotton yarns need to be starched for weaving, and while these garments have been pre-washed, you will notice that the fibers will increasingly soften with use and further washing.

Measurements:

Width: 21 inches

Length: 19 inches plus 2 inches of twisted fringes

Care: Wash by hand separately in cold water with gentle detergent. A little bit of running color is normal for the first couple of washes for naturally-dyed fibers. Lay flat or hang dry. After perhaps 3 washes, we have found that these garments can go in the washing machine, gentle cycle, always inside a mesh bag. Take out of the machine promptly to prevent staining of colors.
