Vintage 14: Faja Chajul
$80.00
This is a gorgeous vintage traditional faja <fa-ha> from the town of Chajul, Guatemala. Fajas are used as belts for traditional cortes (wrap skirts) and pants, if for men, though nowadays it is much less common for men to wear traditional handwoven outfits.
This piece uses all cotton, both for the warp and weft to create the elegant repetitive geometric shapes. And we love the added pompoms on the ends! This is a piece to be cherished, a traditional textile treasure.
