Cinta Nebaj 4 (Headdress)
//A new Artisan Direct listing from Fernando in Chichicastengo!//
This is an exquisite vintage handwoven headdress from the town Nebaj, being sold by our friend Fernando in Chichicastenango. This piece would be traditionally worn intertwined with long hair, with pompoms adorning the top of the headdress when worn. This is a very special treasure piece to be cherished.
The headdress is handwoven on a backstrap loom with cotton threads; the tassels have some acrylic to add volume.
Fernando and his family have a small textile treasure store in their hometown, a place filled with the most beautiful items imaginable. Currently, because of the lasting effects COVID-19 restrictions both nationally and internationally, they have not had many local sales. Thus, the listing of some of the treasures on our site here on our Artisan Direct page.
