Small group Beginner Plain Weave with Doña Lidia (in-person) / TBD

//This is an in-person outdoor weaving class held at our studio garden in central Antigua. Spanish, English, and Kaqchikel instruction are possible by Doña Lidia. The exact address is shared via email upon registering.//

There are really only two steps to the plain weave on a backstrap loom. Once you get the movements, it becomes rather therapeutic to repeat them. But getting to that point might be challenging on your own - so join us to learn from master weaver Doña Lidia, step by step! 

This class will be held on Saturday, May 13th, from 10am-12noon Guatemala time in our beautiful studio garden in Antigua. 

This is a two-hour introductory class on the art of backstrap weaving includes:

• Instruction by master weavers from San Antonio Aguas Calientes (Doña Lidia and her sisters, depending on the number of participants)
• Our PDF guide for plain weave which includes pre-recorded tutorials and images. The PDF download access will be emailed to you automatically when you purchase this class.
• Access to a studio backstrap loom for class use
• 20% off for purchasing your own loom to take home (everything is 20% off when you come visit our studio)
• A light snack

Doña Lidia has been teaching backstrap weaving nationally and internationally for several decades. She started when she was young, helping her mother with classes. She is a wealth of knowledge and a patient teacher with experience in English.
