Vintage 24: Corte Tinta

Looking for a distressed classic indigo look? This navy blue corte is full of both warp and weft ikat. The weave is lightweight with soft cotton, giving a lovely drape.

This piece is still in the original "loop" form as a wrap skirt. We think this would be great for a sewing project!

The word "tinta" refers to the blue used for the "jaspe," or ikat-filled, cortes. Traditionally, this blue came from natural indigo. This piece may have been dyed with synthetic indigo, but not natural indigo anymore.
