Quetzal Wrap: Palo de la Vida
$125.00
This backstrap-woven cotton wrap scarf is full of luxurious ikat patterns. Naturally-dyed in two separate layers; first, the cotton yarns are dyed with "palo de la vida," a local tree. After the ikat knots are placed on the warp, it is then again dyed in natural indigo. The process reveals the dye-resist (ikat) pattern when the knots are removed and the yarns are finally placed on a backstrap loom in order for weaving.
We love supporting talented traditional weavers in Guatemala! And this scarf is a true work of art, a product of collaborative work from dyeing to weaving.
