Handspun by master traditional malacate spinner Doña Marta and her small team, this luxurious tea towel is made with 100% local organic cotton from Lake Atitlán and Nahualá. After spining, the yarn is warped and woven on a backstrap loom. The natural brown is from heirloom "ixcaco" cotton, and the blue from our favorite plant-based dye: indigo. Doña Marta even grows indigo plants herself and processes her small family harvest into a powder dye!
Many talented hands have taken part in the production of this heartfelt product. Combining beauty and practical use into one. The towel will get softer with repeated wash and use, as handspun cotton must be starched to weave.
Note that one warp produced four towels of the same design.
Care: handwash in cold water and hang dry.
