Vintage 2: Huipil Santiago Sacatepéquez

This is a stunning pre-loved traditional garment with absolutely gorgeous brocade designs. All handwoven on a backstrap loom. This makes for a heavier-weight sturdy weave. The amount of brocade work in this piece is really incredible. A true work of art created by very talented hands!

All four selvages are meticulously finished on the loom, showing excellent mastery by the weaver.

Brocaded figures include horses, birds, and geometric designs. Material used is mostly all cotton, with a few sections of supplementary weft in a cotton blend.

This piece is wearable, meaning that the neck opening is large enough for the huipil to be worn. Please do not cut this handwoven artwork as it is full of heritage and tradition.

Measurements:

Width: 30 inches

Length: 24.5 inches

Material: Cotton & cotton blend

Care: Hand wash separately and line dry inside out. Colors should not bleed, but best to be gentle to preserve the brocade stitches.
