We fell in love with the water drop shapes designed and handcrafted by Santos, our partner silversmith who works with local jade. This set crafted in a soft and delicate green stone combines quality jade and sterling silver through careful craftsmanship, all done by hand in Santos' home workshop in San Antonio Aguas Calientes.

The quality and craftsmanship are exceptional, especially at such an amazing price! If more of his jade necklace and earring sets had been available, I would have happily purchased several more! There were other beautiful gemstone jewelry options available; however, I am a huge fan of jade.
What makes this jewelry even more special is knowing that it was handcrafted by the father of Melany, my wonderful instructor for both the private loom-warping and backstrap-weaving classes at Kakaw Designs! Having that personal connection to the artisan makes this beautiful jewelry even more meaningful to me.
I’ve taken several jewelry-making classes myself, so I have a genuine appreciation for the skill, precision, and attention to detail involved in creating beautiful jewelry. I was absolutely amazed by the flawless craftsmanship of this set. Not a single visible tool mark or imperfection anywhere! Even in my wildest dreams, I can’t imagine being able to create something as exquisite as these pieces myself! The workmanship is truly extraordinary!
Much to my surprise and delight, I experienced absolutely no allergic reaction to the handmade earring hooks! I’m extremely sensitive to nickel, which is often mixed with other metals used in jewelry, including silver. I actually travel with my own hypoallergenic earring hooks and jewelry-making tools so I can replace hooks whenever necessary. But these earrings required no modifications whatsoever!
