Schedule a week of backstrap weaving classes in Antigua Guatemala with us. This is a hands-on cultural immersion offering rooted in traditional craft, learning from master Maya Kaqchikel weavers. Please reach out first at hello@kakawdesigns.com to coordinate dates as we need to confirm availability with teachers. We'd be happy to coordinate a Monday - Friday weaving experience for 2-4 students.
The week-long course starts with warping on a traditional warping board and continues to cover the loom setup, plain weave, and brocade figures famous from the weavers' hometown, San Antonio Aguas Calientes. All taught in a one-on-one setting, this is the best way to advance at your own speed.
