Quitapena Patches

If you've ever been to Guatemala, you're sure to have encountered Quitapenas dolls. These sweet little worry dolls are said to take your worries away under your pillow. All you need to do is tell them what's bothering you, and the quitapenas will take care of the rest.

Make your own little quitapena family or select your favorite below. We added a fun new member to the familia -- a "chucho" (Guatemalan slang for dog)!

Each patch is hand-embroidered stitch by stitch with care and love my a local collective of embroideresses at Santiago Atitlán.

The backing is felt, which makes the patches easy to stitch onto your preferred surface - perhaps a jacket, jeans, a market bag, or even a backpack! Wherever you can sew with a needle and thread, these patches will look beautiful.

The embroidery thread used is a cotton blend, and the backing is felt.
