Chajul-style Pompoms with Chato / TBD
Learn how to make traditional pompoms with Chato, our master pompom maker! Feel free to use whatever yarn you have at hand, and we'll go step-by-step from yarn to pompom.
If you'd like to use the same naturally-dyed cotton that we work with, order a Pompom Kit here, including two sample poms made by Chato.
Traditionally, pompoms of this style are attached to the ends of headdresses in the small highland town of Chajul, and are used to adorn women's hair with bursts of color. They hang beautifully and are just so darn adorable.
This class is appropriate for adults and children working together with adults. Join the fun as a family if you'd like! Pre-class email with Zoom information will be sent the day before the class. Please make sure to calculate time difference, the class will be held on Friday, July 23rd, from 10-11am Guatemala time.
Brew some tea and let's get together for some crafty fun!
