This is a practice loom with all the tools included for intermediate and advanced weavers, because the loom is set up for supplementary weft brocade. Each loom has been prepared by hand by Doña Lidia and her family in San Antonio Aguas Calientes, a town famous for beautiful brocade weaving. You'll notice that there are two extra rods called "pepenados" that facilitate supplementary brocade in horizontal lines. Other unique figures can be inserted using the wooden needle included and counting the warp threads as necessary.
Each bundle includes everything you need to start weaving:
A complete, prepared loom with warp and weft ready to go. Thread used in San Antonio Aguas Calientes is mercerized cotton.
A backstrap belt and rope made with maguey (a natural succulent fiber), repurposed cloth for the belt, and/or synthetic rope depending on local availability.
Six to eight different supplementary weft colors, all cotton of the same weight as the warp and weft.
A wooden needle for picking up the warp for brocade.
A "caña" or cane used as a temple to keep the width constant. It is kept in place with two nails.
A cloth canvas "loom bag" for keeping the rolled-up loom safe for transport.

This is the way to get all the tools you need for learning backstrap weaving in one step! Plus you can pick general colors for your warp (and I haven't yet seen a combination Doña Lidia has done that isn't lovely!) It's a win-win; and you'll be all set for your weaving class.
