Keel-billed Toucan Patch
$70.00
We've turned some of our favorite species in Guatemala into these gorgeous works of art in collaboration with Mujeres de Maíz in Santiago Atitlán. See the whole collection here. Stitch by stitch, the talented embroideresses carefully crafted each piece. We think this is especially fitting as Santiago Atitlán is known as "The House of Birds," and traditionally specialize in bird embroidery, though the motifs differ from these patches which feature more biologically-specific features.
The backing is felt, which makes the patches easy to stitch onto your preferred surface - perhaps a jacket, jeans, a market bag, or even a backpack! Wherever you can sew with a needle and thread, these patches will look beautiful.
Make sure to take a look at our other hand-embroidered offerings also.
Materials: The embroidery thread used is a cotton blend, and the backing is felt.
