Aren't the huipiles from Santiago Chimaltenango so curious, with their puffy sleeves, elevated collars, and brocade designs in rectangles? We just can't get enough of this original design! The güipil was constructed true to the backstrap-woven practice of as little cutting as possible (think zero waste, keeping the integrity of weavings)
The base for this piece is all cotton, for both warp and weft. The supplementary weft threads are acrylic. The piece is in excellent condition, and ready to be worn. The neck opening is generous and the piece fits like a US medium. Please do not cut this handwoven artwork as it is full of heritage and tradition.
Note that the modeled image was taken with a different garment, and shows the entire traditional outfit from Santiago Chimaltenango.
Measurements:
Width: 22 inches
Length: 21 inches
Material: Cotton and acrylic.
Care: Please wash by hand and line-dry or lay flat to dry.
