A beautiful newly created cotton blouse made by combining two panels handwoven on a traditional backstrap loom by our partner weavers up in Cobán. The gentle cotton weave has some brocade figures, and is embellished with floral embroidery full of French knots on the neckline and sleeves. We love the contrast between the lilac and bright yellow. Like a field of spring flowers.
Note that both the handwoven panels have all four clean selvage ends, a technically challenging feat that is laborious. The end results in structurally strong textiles that reduce waste as all panels are used to their fullest extent.
This blouse fits like US size S. Note that it is on the shorter end, compared to other two-panel blouses made by the same weavers.
