The Aiko Cropped Jacket: Two Shades of Cochineal
$200.00
//A new cropped version of our favorite jacket!//
This ready-to-ship Aiko Jacket is crafted from a naturally-dyed (in two tones of cochineal!) and handwoven textile. We love the elegance in its simplicity in this cropped version that is begging to be layered. Note the use of the original selvages of this beautiful pinstriped textile, dyed and woven by our partners at Lake Atitlán.
For every jacket sold, we donate $10 to Friendship Bridge, an organization chosen by Aiko that works to create opportunities for rural Indigenous women in Guatemala through education and microloans.
The jacket’s relaxed fit, with no defined shoulder lines, makes it suitable for a range of body shapes from small to large. Wear it open for a haori-like style or pin it closed for a more structured look.
Each jacket includes a mending kit, in keeping with the jacket's Japanese spirit. The kit features naturally-dyed threads and textile squares, including the same fabric as the jacket, encouraging thoughtful repair. We believe that mending garments with care adds to their beauty over time.
