A one of a kind beauty created by local collective Mujeres de Maíz from Santiago Atitlán using an intricate ikat-filled traditional corte (wrap skirt) as a base, and adding hand embroidery to the front neckline of the dress stitch by stitch. This town is known traditionally for the beautiful and laborious bird embroidery featured in women's huipiles (blouses) and men's pants.
This dress features unique floral embroidery that is reminiscent of cherry or plum blossoms.
Fits like US size S - M and the included sash allows for optional highlighting of waistline. The corte used in this piece is a cotton blend, and the embroidery thread used is a rayon blend.
Measurements:
Chest: 42 inches
Waist 46 inches
Hip 50 inches
Length: 39
