The Artist Vest in Wool 1
Sold Out $185.00
//This is a OOAK Artist Vest in Wool features 100% handspun and handwoven wool from Momostenango and is hand-stitched along the edge of the garment with naturally-dyed cotton thread. We love the combination of natural fibers and dyes! Embroidery was performed by Claribel from Sumpango. Note that it is lined entirely with our handwoven natural indigo + crudo textile in cotton, the same textile featured for the collar. //
The oversized pockets and easy-to-wear look go with everything from tank tops to long sleeves makes this vest ideal work working in the studio, running errands around town, or just feeling cozy at home.
The construction of the garment is done by Juan Carlos, who was able to purchase an overlock sewing machine in 2020 with all the work from making cloth masks since COVID hit. We are so pleased with this new addition to our collaborative offerings.
Including a mending kit with each vest in-line with this piece's Japanese influence! With a few different textile squares (including the same textile as the vest) and naturally-dyed cotton threads, we hope for these garments to be loved and used for years to come as well as mended if needed in the future. When done with care and love, we believe that mending makes garments increasingly beautiful.
Length: 29 inches
Shoulder Width: 12.5 inches.
Currently available in one size due to flexible nature of the vest worn open - we think it is a good fit for US sizes S/M
