This is a pre-loved traditional huipil from Tactic, Alta Verapaz, Guatemala. It was purchased directly from the weaver a few years back, from the same group that is now featured in Artisan Direct. The three-panel style each handwoven with four selvages is typical of the town, and makes for easy and beautiful wearing paired with high-waisted bottoms.
We think this is an especially "easy" piece to wear given the repeating patterns and the color choices. It fits like XS / S.
The neck opening is large enough for comfortable wearing. The bottom edges of the huipil have been folded in and stitched over for increased durability. The same goes for the sleeves.
Material: Cotton
Care: Gentle machine cycle inside out and line dry. Colors will not bleed as the piece has been washed many times.
