This small rug was handwoven on a footloom in Momostenango with natural local wool. The warp is cotton, the weft is hand-processed and hand-spun wool. The rug was made with the best white wool available, and has been dyed with fresh avocado seeds at Lake Atitlán to achieve the subtle gradient effect. There are certainly plenty of avocado seeds around! We love that the dyers are using food waste for this color.
We think this rug size works great in small areas like in bathrooms, in front of doors, or wherever you'd like to add some warmth both aesthetically and physically for your feet.
