Small group Beginner Plain Weave with Doña Lidia / Friday February 11th, 10am-12noon Guatemala time (2022)
//This is an in-person outdoor weaving class held at our studio garden in central Antigua. Spanish, English, and Kaqchikel instruction are possible by Doña Lidia. COVID safety protocols are observed and the exact address will be shared upon registering.//
There are really only two steps to the plain weave on a backstrap loom. Once you get the movements, it becomes rather therapeutic to repeat them. But getting to that point might be challenging on your own - so join us to learn from master weaver Doña Lidia, step by step!
This is a two-hour introductory class on the art of backstrap weaving with master weaver Doña Lidia and includes a comprehensive PDF guide with links to pre-recorded tutorials we have produced.
Doña Lidia has been teaching backstrap weaving nationally and internationally for several decades. She is a wealth of knowledge and a patient teacher with experience teaching in English.
This class will be held on Friday, February 11th from 10am-12noon Guatemala time in our beautiful studio garden in Antigua.
Please join us with your backstrap loom ready to go. Need a loom? No worries, we have several offerings for you at our studio! Everything is 20% off when purchased in-person, making looms affordable starting at 240Q.
