Private Class: Chajul-style Pompoms with Chato (in-person) / Email us to schedule
//This is an in-person outdoor class for 1-4 pax held at our studio garden in central Antigua. Chato teaches in Spanish. Please let us know below if you need assistance with interpretation for English - we can arrange this for $10 extra. The exact address will be shared upon registering. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or write to our WhatsApp at +502 5191 1991 to coordinate the date and time.//
Learn how to make traditional pompoms with Chato, our master pompom maker, in our central Antigua studio garden! We will have a variety of beautifully naturally-dyed cotton yarns to work with, and we'll go step-by-step from thread to pompom.
This two-hour class includes all materials as well as a light snack and a PDF guide with pre-recorded videos and images for you to look back on after class. The PDF guide access will be automatically sent to you to the provided email upon the purchase of this product.
Traditionally, pompoms of this style are attached to the ends of headdresses in the small highland town of Chajul, and are used to adorn women's hair with bursts of color. They hang beautifully and are just so darn adorable.
This class is appropriate for adults and children working together with adults. Join the fun as a family if you'd like!
