Online weaving class with Doña Lidia / October 17, 9-10am (2020)
Join us for a one-hour introductory class on the art of backstrap weaving with master weaver Doña Lidia! This is the second class of what we hope will be a recurring series to introduce more weavers to the art of backstrap weaving.
Doña Lidia has been teaching backstrap weaving nationally and internationally for many years. She is a wealth of knowledge and a patient teacher with experience teaching in English.
This class will be held via Zoom on Saturday, October 17th, 9-10am Guatemala time from Doña Lidia's home. Following the hour of demonstration, we will be featuring a live bazaar with handwoven items for sale, which will be an excellent opportunity to purchase woven beauties directly from Doña Lidia and her family in San Antonio Aguas Calientes. We will organize all logistics like payments and shipping.
Maximum number of participants: 5. An email will be sent with more details a few days before the class, including the Zoom meeting invitation. The class will be recorded and shared privately, so participants will be able to go back and review the material at their leisure.
