Online beginner plain weave class with Doña Lidia / November 7, 9-10am (2020)
There are really only two steps to the plain weave on a backstrap loom. Once you get the movements, it becomes rather therapeutic to repeat them. But getting to that point might be challenging if on your own - if this sounds like you, this is your class!
Join us for a one-hour introductory class on the art of backstrap weaving with master weaver Doña Lidia. This is a beginner's group class with maximum 8 participants. We recommend this class for people new to backstrap weaving, and enjoy learning together.
Doña Lidia has been teaching backstrap weaving nationally and internationally for many years. She is a wealth of knowledge and a patient teacher with experience teaching in English.
This class will be held via Zoom on Saturday, November 7th, 9-10am Guatemala time from Doña Lidia's home. Following the hour of weaving together, we will be featuring a live bazaar with handwoven items for sale, which will be an excellent opportunity to purchase woven beauties directly from Doña Lidia and her family in San Antonio Aguas Calientes. We will organize all logistics like payments and shipping.
We will be sending you an email with more class details during the week leading up to this class.
