This is a gorgeous vintage three-panel traditional huipil from San Juan Cotzal full of detailed supplementary weft brocade woven on a backstrap loom. The patterns featured include birds and geometric shapes. Please note that this is a used traditional huipil (backstrap-woven blouse) being sold by the weaver herself, who is a member of the weaving cooperative from that town.
Threads used are high-quality cotton, with a rayon blend for supplementary weft. The neckline is delicately hand-embroidered with adorable designs - so much attention to detail!
The neck opening is large enough for this piece to be worn. It also makes a beautiful decoration as is or opened on the sides so that it can be laid flat. Please do not cut this handwoven gem as it is full of tradition and heritage.
This piece fits like a US small or medium, worn loosely.

Width: 29 inches
