Handspun Cotton Clutch 2
We took a part of the handwoven textiles from our Handspun Cotton Rebozos to create these matching clutches.
Organic local cotton in natural white and heirloom variety "ixcaco" have been handspun and handwoven on a backstrap loom to make the beautiful textile. We added genuine leather, natural indigo inner lining, sturdy YKK zippers, and a tassel made of the fringes of the same handspun textile. We were able to make 4 units of each design, and we are absolutely in love with the results.
The brown is the heirloom "ixcaco" (pronounced <ishkako>). This beautiful variety naturally yields less cotton than its white counterpart, and the fibers are also shorter. These factors make ixcaco a less desirable cotton tree to grow under normal conditions. But we think it is absolutely beautiful, and we think you will too. The navy blue is local and organically-grown white cotton dyed with natural indigo.
Note that some of the pieces show difference in the ixcaco hues. We find this natural variance to be absolutely gorgeous.
