A one of a kind beauty created by local collective Mujeres de Maíz from Santiago Atitlán using a sturdy medium-weight traditional corte (wrap skirt) as a base, and adding hand embroidery stitch by stitch. This town is known traditionally for the beautiful and laborious bird embroidery featured in women's huipiles (blouses) and men's pants.
This dress features two large striking tropical-colored birds in the front.
Fits like US size S - M and the included sash allows for optional highlighting of waistline. The corte used in this piece is cotton is all cotton, and the embroidery thread used is glossy blend.
