A one of a kind beauty created by local collective Mujeres de Maíz from Santiago Atitlán using an intricate ikat-filled traditional corte (wrap skirt) as a base, and adding hand embroidery to the back of the dress stitch by stitch. This town is known traditionally for the beautiful and laborious bird embroidery featured in women's huipiles (blouses) and men's pants.
Fits like US size S or M. The corte used in this piece is almost all cotton, with some metallic strips in the weft in small stripes for an added shine. The embroidery thread used is acrylic. The piece comes with a matching sash to accentuate the waistline as desired.
Chest: 20 inches
