Traditional cortes <cor-tays> (wrap skirts) with stripes are transformed into super cozy and light wraps. The entire outer edge of the textile is hand-embroidered by a group of women embroiderers, using naturally-dyed cotton thread from our partner cooperative of weavers at Lake Atitán. We love linking the two groups of women together to make these gorgeous wraps. The fringes are put together carefully with macramé. This one in particular features naturally-dyed thread in grey gradient; the light changes in the hues make the fringes intriguing and unique.
Please note that due to the style of the repurposed corte, the size of this Corte Wrap is slightly different from others (it is a few inches more narrow). This difference is reflected in the price. Any holes found in the used corte have been mended by hand carefully to give the textile a new life.
Width: 18 inches
Length: 76 inches plus 5 inches of macramé fringes on both ends
