Corte Bedspread 4
We took a vintage medium heavy-weight traditional cotton handwoven corte with a beautiful hand-stitched randa embroidery, and converted it into one large piece of textile that would be beautiful as a bedspread. But don't stop there - this piece can also be used as a large picnic blanket, a couch cover, a cozy blanket, and more!
Our embroidery partners in Sumpango took the corte (traditional wrap skirt) and hand-stitched it further to suit full and queen size beds. We paid close attention to the randa placement, and we're very pleased with the results.
The new hand-embroidery is a blanket stitch all along the edges, and a simple randa-style union all with naturally-dyed cochineal thread. We're sure that you will love feeling cozy on this piece as much as we do.
