Corte Bedspread 1
We took a vintage heavy-weight traditional corte from San Pedro Sacatepéquez with a beautiful hand-stitched randa embroidery, and converted it into a bedspread. Our embroidery partners at Sumpango took the corte and hand-stitched it further to suit full and queen size beds. We paid close attention to the randa placement, and we're very pleased with the results.
The new hand-embroidery is a blanket stitch all along the edges, and a simple randa-style union all with naturally-dyed indigo thread. We're sure that you will love feeling cozy on this piece as much as we do. Berry went right ahead to give it a try - and she approves ;)
This piece would also make a very cozy throw on your couch, or a large picnic blanket for enjoying the outdoors in a group.
