Online Advanced Loom Set-Up Class with Doña Lidia / November 21, 11am-12noon (2020)
A special one-hour advanced class by request! Join us for this continuation class on how to set up a backstrap loom, this time getting to the nitty gritty details of how to set up the pepenado sticks for brocade weaving after warping and setting up the warp with sticks, and arranging the string heddle. This class is taught by master weaver Doña Lidia from her home in San Antonio Aguas Calientes.
To put your learnings from class into action, take a look at our Make Your Own Loom Kit, prepped by Doña Lidia and her sister.
We previously hosted an introductory loom set-up class. If you missed the first one, please let us know and we can send you the recording for your review in preparation for this continuation class.
Doña Lidia has been teaching backstrap weaving nationally and internationally for many years. She is a wealth of knowledge and a patient teacher with experience teaching in English.
This class will be held via Zoom on Saturday, November 21st, 11am-12noon Guatemala time. Please check the time difference. This is a special topic session suitable for weavers interested in the details of backstrap weaving.
An email with more details will be sent a few days before the class, including the Zoom meeting invitation. The class will be recorded and shared privately, so participants will be able to go back and review the material at their leisure.
