Traditional cortes <cor-tays> (wrap skirts) with ikat designs are transformed into super cozy and light wraps. The entire outer edge of the textile is hand-embroidered by a group of women embroiderers in Sumpango, using naturally-dyed cotton thread from our partner cooperative of weavers at Lake Atitlán. We love linking the two groups of women together to make these gorgeous wraps. The fringes are put together carefully with macramé.
This is a one-of-a-kind variation with repurposed blue cotton base combined with an emerald green hue cotton for the fringing.
Please note that modeled images are of different Corte Wraps from previous production.
See the original version with brick red fringes here.
Width: 25 in / 64 cm
