Corte Wrap 20: Pericón Fringes
Traditional cortes <cor-tays> (wrap skirts) with ikat designs are transformed into super cozy and light wraps. The entire outer edge of the textile is hand-embroidered by a group of women embroiderers, using naturally-dyed cotton thread from our partner cooperative of weavers at Lake Atitlán. We love linking the two groups of women together to make these gorgeous wraps. The fringes are put together carefully with macramé.
This is a one of a kind variation with repurposed blue cotton corte combined with a deep pericón (ochre yellow) cotton fringing.
Please note that modeled images are of different Corte Wraps from previous production.
See the original version with brick red fringes here.
Care: Hand wash in cold water and hang dry in the shade.
