This small rug was handwoven on a footloom in Momostenango with natural local wool. The warp is cotton, the weft is hand-processed and hand-spun wool. The rug was made with the best white wool available, and has been dyed with a local basil variety to achieve this green-grey hue.
The rug works great in small areas like in bathrooms, in front of doors, or wherever you'd like to add some warmth both aesthetically and physically for your feet.
We dyed three of these small rugs in basil, taking advantage of an existing vat for a different dye project.
