The weavers in San Juan Cotzal are getting creative! This is a new apron version they have made with backstrap-woven textiles in a muted color palette.
We made some recommendations when they first brought us some aprons (we decided against carrying them), and they took our feedback seriously and came back with these beautiful versions. We think this is spot-on and are so pleased with their innovative approach.
The apron is constructed with two cotton plain weave panels stitched together at the center decoratively, all by hand. It comes with two pockets, the larger one showing skilled brocade figures.
