Table Runner Doña Lidia 3: Two Parrots
This table runner was handwoven on a backstrap loom by master weaver Doña Lidia López, the wonderful backstrap weaving teacher for the online classes we offer. All the figures seen in this panel are considered traditional designs of San Antonio Aguas Calientes, Doña Lidia's home town.
The central figure, the two parrot surrounded by flowers, is a motif often used on traditional güipiles. It is handwoven in double-sided brocade.
This is a gem to be cherished - it would make a wonderful decorative wall hanging as well as a runner for your favorite surface.
Care: Wash by hand in cold water and hang or lay flat to dry.
Width: 18 inches
Length: 51.5 inches plus 2 inches of twisted fringes on both ends
