A one of a kind beauty created by local collective Mujeres de Maíz from Santiago Atitlán using an intricate ikat-filled traditional corte (wrap skirt) as a base, and adding hand embroidery stitch by stitch. This town is known traditionally for the beautiful and laborious bird embroidery featured in women's huipiles (blouses) and men's pants.
This dress features three striking birds in the front.
Fits like US size S - M and the included sash allows for optional highlighting of waistline. The corte used in this piece is cotton with a bit of metallic thread accents, and the embroidery thread used is glossy blend.
