A beautiful new handwoven cotton blouse made with two panels, woven on a backstrap loom by our partner weavers up in Cobán. The colors are elegant with the white base embellished with red and green supplementary weft brocade (little ducks) and neckline embroidery. This blouse has a slim fit as it is made with only two panels. The fringes at the bottom adda nice bit of weight and movement to the top.
This type of huipil (traditional blouse) is regionally worn with gathered flowy corte (wrap skirt), and the combination is really beautiful. But feel free to combine with other kinds of skirts or jeans. The rougher weave called "calado" can be see-through, so this blouse is good to combine with a camisole.
This blouse fits like US sizes S and M and is cotton with some rayon embroidery floss.
This blouse was handwoven by Concepción.
