Another beautiful vintage huipil from Nahualá featuring traditional patterns of the town in supplementary weft brocade woven on a backstrap loom. Material used is cotton for both warp and felt. Three clean selvages, finished on the loom. The fourth is left loose as pictured.

Can you spot the traditional animal figures in the brocade? The use of soft hues for the brocade on top of the rustic indigo blue makes for an appealing color combination.

This piece is wearable, meaning that the neck opening is large enough for the huipil to be worn. Its sides are currently unsewn, so it lays flat extended. If you'd like the sides sewn, please let us know; we'd be happy to organize that for you.

This piece is being sold by our friend Fernando from Chichicastenango. Fernando and his family have a small textile treasure store in their home town, a place filled with the most beautiful items imaginable. Currently, because of travel restrictions due to COVID-19 both nationally and internationally, they have not had many local sales. Thus, the listing of some of the treasures on our site here on our Artisan Direct page.
